because it sure as hell wasn't me

i see a lot of people showing us the way to go but they don't really know - the right direction
(the indifferent are being led by the blind)
'lot of people telling me that they've got the remedy - for our affliction

I think that they’ve lost sight of what they're supposed to be-
to you and me and i ponder the fate of true democracy
i hear talk of taking back our right to protest
and i wonder what will they take next
but with our voices gone there’s not much left to take
